# About this site

Whole House Water Treatment is an independent, U.S.-focused review and water-quality resource. We cover whole-house carbon filtration, salt-based and salt-free softeners, whole-house and point-of-use reverse osmosis, and well-water treatment.

## How we test and rate

Our reviews are built from manufacturer specifications, third-party certifications (NSF, IAPMO) and the real-world maintenance and warranty experience reported by long-term owners. We do not accept paid placement and we do not display prices on this site - pricing on whole-house systems changes frequently and the manufacturer's site is the source of truth.

## How we frame water-quality data

Every U.S. utility we cover meets the federal EPA legal limits for drinking water. When we flag a contaminant as "above the health guideline," that refers to the stricter, non-enforceable benchmark published by the Environmental Working Group (EWG), not a legal violation. We pull figures from the EWG Tap Water Database, USGS and EPA, and we never invent or extrapolate numbers.

## Why there is no contact page

For warranty, installation or troubleshooting, contact the manufacturer directly - that's both faster and more accurate.
